| I'm 21, turning 22 in April. I just figured to see just what age the people who use Descent|OS are. Call it market research | |

| I turned 58 yesterday. Nearly a senior citizen! I have been using Linux since realising that I could ditch proprietry based software in the days of Hardy Heron. Being a relative newby to computing and MS Windows I was glad to discover I could chart my own course and not be locked in to Bills` Empire. Ubuntu base deriviatives have been my preference and Ultimate Edition always my mainstay. cheers Greg.

| Happy Birthday! I started Linux back in 2010, and tried a bunch of distros before I made DescentOS, but I guess my motivation initially was to save money and actually resurrect my computer, which wasn't very powerful at the time. | |

| I'm 35, been using Linux for about 12-13 years now, built a few personal distros, was a dev for LinuxMint, SolusOS, and Lubuntu. Been a computer geek since I was 5, with an original Apple II, and then a IIe, and so on and so on. Looking forward to trying this one out, (love gnome 2, and use it as my main DE, on a custom built distro that I made for myself based off Debian), and am so happy to see one that someone else decided to make, basing it from Ubuntu. As I have said to you already, if there is anything I can do to help you out, just let me know.

| Well, I don't know who will turn out to be the old geezer, here, but I'm now 66. I started in with Linux about 6 years ago when I retired. I don't remember which distro I tried first, but then Ubuntu caught my eye. Soon after, Kubuntu took over. I did a lot of experimenting and testing for the first couple years, settling on PCLOS for a prolonged time. It was good, and topped the Distrowatch chart for a time. It was a very close fit but something about it made me try other distros again. I was pro-KDE for a while after that--until Linux Mint came to the forefront--with Gnome desktop. It felt right, and I'm still there.
Now I'm considering entering the 3rd year of instructing a Linux User's Group, or maybe I should say, helping other people who are disgusted with M$, get launched into a new OS that gives them the freedom they've been looking for. | |

| Hello all. I am new at computers I guess, started in the 70's with aTexas Instruments moule hooked up to a TV with a tape recorder for a "hard drive". I turned 76 the 17th of this month.. Registered linux user #422517. Retired computer technitian and Road Musician.. Played Bass guitar for nearly 60 years, hoping one day I might learn to play the dang thang... O I HAVE TO use windoze cause that's the only way I can watch movies on netflix. So I have windows XP PROl Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon, PC Linux 12 I think, DecntOS3.0, WattOS, all for a different purpose since I can't seem to be happy with some of the different programs on some of the Distro's.. so much for me.. Just that I hate keyboard (I have RA) and my fingers have allmost stopped working.. Oh and I forgot the only completely useless Distro on my computer..Puppy 5.3.1.,.. but I love playing with it... Thanks for listening,, G'Day | |

| 53 years young. Running Ubuntu but can't wait until the installer issue with descent gets fixed so I can give Ubuntu the boot. Being of thee elder crowd Ubuntu just does not float my boat so to speak. I liked every thing I saw with this OS and was disappointed I could not install it. | |
